I really hate it when sex-negative people talk about how not repressing your sex drive makes you no better than the animals.
First of all, we are animals. Get off your high horse.
Secondly, most animals aren’t known to have sex for pleasure. They only have sex to reproduce. Choosing to have sex for a reason other than reproduction (eg. physical pleasure, desire for intimacy, forging an emotional bond, etc.) is actually something that separates us from all but the most intelligent animals, such as dolphins and bonobos.
Lastly, what’s so damn important about being separate from the rest of the animal kingdom? I enjoy sex. Why should I care if that makes me the same as an animal? If those animals are also choosing to have pleasurable consensual sex, then we have something awesome in common.
